Would it be possible to create an option for exclusive contracts with other players?  Would it also be possible to create a trade block or something to keep a player(s) from buying your goods?  The internal sales option is good most of the time to keep players from buying goods, especially rare ones, but this would be different and isolate a certain player or players.

I wouldn’t mind having an option to view only my companies either… (when searching suppliers), now I am very glad that you added the “all countries” option, I just think for people who do like me, and produce everything themselves every step of the way… I want to use all of my own resources and each step of the way…(no sense in paying someone else when I can pay myself)  What do you think? its it a feasable option?

Gilherme: I’m not sure I will implement a blocking option for selected customers. In real life refusing to sell to a customer is illegal. I will think about it.

eternalsoldiermc: the option to see only controlled units have been added to the suppliers window.

General Motors doesn’t sell it’s cars to Ford because Ford doesn’t want to buy.
Same thing for your apple company example. If you sell products you cannot sell only to selected stores.
It would be illegal.

This being said I understand your point of view, I have to think about it…

You all are correct… (though I don’t even care for the idea…you are also wrong) many companies have short term exlusivity, and long term. Look at cell phones for example, Palm has always vendored to sprint only, BB did to sprint for a long time only as well. the new Palm pre that just came out, is exclusive to sprint and best buy stores as well. Thus, yes factory’s actually can choose which stores sell there products…THATS HOW IT WORKS. Walmart has had a tough time getting competitive in the electronics division, they are now finally able to pursuay new companies to provide their products to them to sell. In all honesty the way he proposed is even more legal and relative to a economy than the way you all are… All companies choose who they sell to, the only illegal part is saying you won’t sell to certain customers, this has nothing to do with selling to certain businesses.

eternalsoldiermc: It seems you are correct.  wink

“In general, a seller has the right to choose its business partners. A firm’s refusal to deal with any other person or company is lawful so long as the refusal is not the product of an anticompetitive agreement with other firms or part of a predatory or exclusionary strategy to acquire or maintain a monopoly.”
FTC (United States), Supply Chain: Refusal to supply

“In general, businesses may decide for themselves with whom they wish to deal. The Trade Practices Act 1974 (the Act) does not give anyone an absolute right to be supplied, whatever the circumstances. There is no automatic right to be supplied and there is no obligation on a business to justify its decision to refuse supply.”
ACCC (Australia), Refusing to supply consumers

“There is no absolute obligation on any business to supply to, or buy a product from, another business. However, under certain circumstances, if your business refuses to supply another business or another business refuses to supply you, the Competition Act may apply.”
Competition Bureau (Canada), Refusal to supply

Now I have to think how to implement it…  tongue rolleye

There are 2 new features you can use to setup “Exclusive Contracts”
- Strategy “No New Customers”
- The feature “Fire Customers”

To do what you want:

1. Select the strategy “External Sales”
2. Setup the relationships you want
3. Select the strategy “No New Customers”
4. Fire customers who have setup unwanted relationships before step 3
